The remarkable scale of today’s music festivals is the result of extensive creative development, technical planning, and collaboration behind the scenes. Elaborate stage installations, synchronized lighting, and immersive visual environments are carefully designed to transform artistic concepts into experiences for thousands of attendees. For nearly two decades, Mark Rietveld has contributed to this process, establishing an international career through his involvement in some of the live entertainment industry’s most prominent festivals and productions.
Serving as Co-Owner and Creative Director of 360 Show Design, Rietveld has dedicated his professional career to developing environments that combine architectural creativity, technological capabilities, and visual storytelling. Together with a multidisciplinary team of designers, production experts, and technical specialists, he has contributed to ambitious productions that enhance the relationship between performers and audiences while extending the artistic experience beyond the music itself.

His professional background encompasses an extensive range of internationally recognized events, including Defqon.1 Festival, Qlimax, Mysteryland, Tomorrowland, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Creamfields Chile, Lost Lands Festival, So Track Boa, No Art Festival, Verknipt, EDC Las Vegas, and numerous large-scale productions throughout Australia. These collaborations reflect the breadth of Rietveld’s experience and his continued involvement in events that attract international audiences and influence contemporary approaches to live entertainment production.
Recognition of 360 Show Design’s capabilities extends to achievements of particular significance within the production industry. The company contributed to a record-breaking production at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in the Netherlands, where a display featuring 1,100 lasers earned the Guinness World Record for the largest laser show. Additionally, its work on the Lost Lands Festival Grand Finale received a Live Entertainment Production Award (LEPA) nomination in 2026. These distinctions demonstrate the scope of the company’s creative and technical accomplishments and provide further context for Rietveld’s contributions to major international productions.
Central to Rietveld’s creative philosophy is the belief that stage design should communicate more than visual spectacle. His approach incorporates architecture, lighting, technical innovation, and an understanding of audience engagement to develop environments that complement the performance while establishing a distinctive atmosphere. Whether working on an intimate visual sequence or an expansive festival installation, he emphasizes the importance of creating experiences that leave a lasting impression.
Supporting this vision are two key members of 360 Show Design’s leadership team: Bart Straver, Head of Production, and Pieter Truijen, Head of Design. Straver oversees technical planning, production coordination, and implementation, while Truijen directs the development of stage concepts and immersive environments. Working alongside Rietveld, they integrate creative direction with the practical requirements of large-scale production, guiding projects from their initial concepts through final execution.

Together, their expertise has supported internationally recognized productions across Europe, North America, South America, Central America, Australia, and the Middle East. This extensive geographic reach reflects the team’s experience navigating diverse production environments and delivering complex projects for major entertainment events.
Throughout 2026, 360 Show Design has maintained an active international production schedule, contributing to Verknipt Ziggo Dome, Don’t Let Daddy Know Amsterdam, Verknipt Warehouse Special Easter, Kingsland Festival, Empire Music Festival in Guatemala, Verknipt Unrestricted, EDC Las Vegas, and Verknipt Festival Utrecht. These projects further demonstrate the company’s continued involvement in prominent festivals and large-scale entertainment productions.
Among its notable recent projects was the redesign of the Basspod stage for EDC Las Vegas 2026. As one of the festival’s established electronic music stages, Basspod provided an opportunity for 360 Show Design to introduce a renewed creative concept within a major international event. The project represents a significant addition to the company’s portfolio, reflecting its experience in combining stage architecture, immersive visuals, and technical production.
For Rietveld, however, the value of a production extends beyond its physical scale or technological complexity. The defining measure is the connection it creates with an audience.
“Great show design is about creating moments people remember,” says Rietveld. “Every project starts with a vision, but it’s the collaboration between creative ideas and technical expertise that turns that vision into something audiences can truly experience.”
As 360 Show Design continues developing its international portfolio, Rietveld and his team remain focused on advancing their creative approach to live entertainment. Building on nearly two decades of experience, major festival collaborations, and involvement in record-setting and award-recognized productions, their work continues to contribute to the evolution of large-scale festival design and immersive audience experiences.
